 Goal of Program

• Prevent providers from initiating opioid protocols prematurely
• When opioid use is appropriate, ensure that duration and level of use are medically appropriate and consistent with evidence-based guidelines

• Comparing Majoris^® network claims with one insurance carrier’s claims in other networks or not enrolled in any provider network
• Comparison scope was over 2 years from 2009 to 2011
  • Majoris^® claim average cost of opioids increased 2% in 2 years
  • All other claims average cost of opioids increased 9% in same 2 years.
